This exhibition examines the ideal of peace alongside the reality of global difficulty. We are searching for the powerful and moving, the ecstatic, the thoughtful. CALL FOR MASKS OF DIONYSUS RELATED ART Artists of all mediums are encouraged to submit up to 3 artworks which interpret & incorporate Dionysian myth & symbolism. Artists may draw from any themes related to Dionysus and must submit a brief explanation describing how the artwork accomplishes this task. The best-judged artist will receive a cash award. The show will open on February 18th, 2006. Submissions must include no more than 3 works of art, artist's statement explaining how the artwork fits the theme, and artist biography & contact information, and the entry fee of $20. The entry fee is used to fund the cash award. Deadline for Submissions is February 15, 2006. Projekt30 is an artist run arts organization dedicated to promoting emerging artists. We are taking submissions for our March Juried Exhibition. Thirty artists are selected, and invitations are sent to over 70,000 galleries, collectors, and artists. Our proven system has resulted in over 8000 inquiries sent to artists via our website. Our exhibitions use the "public jurying" process we pioneered December 2003. Unlike other juried exhibitions, all participants are guaranteed exposure: All artwork submitted will be presented prior to the exhibition so Projekt30's visitors may help select the artists to be included in the March Exhibition. AFTER DARK - CALL FOR ENTRIES The Center for Fine Art Photography promotes the art of photography and the efforts of creative artists through its exhibitions and publications. It invites U.S. and International photographers to submit both traditional and digital work, and work in the avant garde. In addition to the following awards, selected work from After Dark and Positive - Negative exhibitions will be exhibited in Denver International Airport's art gallery for three months, begining in July. Other awards include: 1) $1,000 in awards, 2) Best of Show, 3) Feature Artist in the April 2006 issue of /Artists' ShowCase/, 4) selected works of approximately eight additional exhibitors will be included in the print edition of /Artists' ShowCase/, and 5) Director's Selection award. 20th Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Competition and Exhibition is a competition that places ten new sculptures on the campus of Appalachian State University and includes works selected from two categories: completed and site specific. This summer will celebrate the 20th Anniversary and has invited Michael Klein, Executive Director of the International Sculpture Center to serve as juror. Each artist receives $1,000 honorarium for participating in the program, and the Rosen Award Winner receives an additional $5,000. Additionally, the winner is also awarded a weeklong residency at ASU and works directly with our Department of Art. The Rosen Competition is a part of An Appalachian Summer Festival-a multi-arts festival featuring music, dance, theatre and visual arts. \"The Sex Issue\" Projekt30 will host its first theme exhibition: \"The Sex Issue\" showcasing fine artists who comment upon gender and sex in our society. We are accepting work ranging from the personal, to the political, to the near-pornographic. The exhibition will be publicly juried: Artwork submitted will be presented prior to the exhibition so visitors may help select what will be included, unlike other juried exhibitions everyone receives exposure. The final exhibition will consist of work from 30 artists. It will run from March 3rd to April 15th, 2006. Mailings will be distributed to galleries and organizations in New York City and California.
